Before we had kids, my husband and I traveled a few times a year, but one trip was always a special trip we took each year, to different countries, cultures, islands, European cities, you name it! We always said that no matter what, we’d make one trip a year, a kid-free vacation even after having our babies. We’ve kept our promise to each other and this year, we went to Grand Cayman, which we’d never been to. Our kids got extra loving time with their grandparents and my hubby and I got some much needed adult time, relaxing at the Westin Grand Cayman. (Amazing resort by the way!)
Top 11 Beach Vacation Packing Tips
I am notorious for over-packing, and it never fails when I think I’ve under-packed (under 50 lbs.) that I’m still OVER 50 when we get to the airport! Here are my top mom swimsuit recommendations and top beach vacation tips to enjoy a kid-free getaway. All of these finds are amazing deals and I have to say, I was PLEASANTLY surprised that everything fit true to size and was great quality! Who doesn’t LOVE Amazon?!!! Am I right?!
Mom Tips for Coming Back Home
When you are coming back from your kid-free vacation, enjoy all of the hugs and kisses because they missed you so much! Also, be patient with their routine. They might be so excited your home that they’re routine might be off for a few days. Try to go back to normal, regularly scheduled activities and give some space when needed.
Overall, you need to plan a kid-free break at some point in the year, even if it’s a long weekend! Give yourself time to get your sanity back and give the kids a chance to bond with grandparents or other close family that will watch them for you. It’s a great way for you and your hubby to reconnect and enjoy a trip that doesn’t require a nap schedule or diaper changes! The only nap schedule will be you falling asleep on the beach!
