When I first started my blogging and influencer journey I looked to successful influencers and their tips for DIY photography. I shoot a lot of my photos myself, however, I do recommend a professional photo shoot if you have the budget (every once in a while) if you want to “up” your blogging game. Also, the professional shoots are great when you have a collaboration and want to provide the best possible content! That said, I still edit and shoot a TON of my own photos on my new iPhone12 Pro Max (yes, I sprung for the biggie!) But I was shooting on my old iPhone for a while and still got great pics!

Top 5 Photography Tools for Influencers and Bloggers
- Remote Bluetooth Camera Shutter This is a lifesaver, so you can set up your phone and your photos can look like you have a professional photographer taking your photos! I usually use this when I’m outside or in my backyard taking new outfit pics. It has also come in handy when I want to take a photo of our whole family and now we do our own family photos using the remote! Super affordable, and works on both iOS and Android phones.
- Convertible Tripod This one is a winner in my book and can go up to 60 inches high. Perfect for around the house, outside or full body photos. You will need to get the attachment for your phone separately, but at this price, it’s a steal! Also it comes with a travel bag too, but I keep mine out because I’m constantly shooting and I also use it to hold my phone for my Instagram Reels videos too!
- Phone Tripod Mount Since the tripod doesn’t come with an attachment for your phone (it’s meant for cameras) you need to snag this separately but it goes on super easy and can hold my hugh iPhone12 Pro Max. Sometimes it works to take off your phone case if you have a Popsocket or Loopy on the back, but otherwise – a definite must-have for shooting perfect at home lifestyle influencer or blogger photos.
- Ring Light When I first started blogging and taking my “DIY Photography” to the next level I invested in a ring light. There are many different types that you can find on Amazon and affordable options. You just need to choose the right one that you think will be the best one for your needs. [Funny story: my husband started “stealing” my ring light and using for HIS Zoom meetings!] You’ll also want to snag the Softbox Diffuser because without it, your light will be super harsh and you don’t want it to be super bright!
- Ring Light with Tripod Stand For my beauty influencers and beauty bloggers that are just starting out, this is a great combo of a ring light and tripod to hold your phone. I know the lighting in my house is always so dark that I need a ring light for everything, and this one offers different light settings and holds my big phone. The only set back with this is that it’s not wireless. You need to plug it in for the ring light to operate.
