Bye 2020. Hello 2021!
Celebrating New Year’s Eve is a fun tradition that I have always loved! Growing up, my parents always made a big deal out of it because they got engaged on New Year’s. So it always was a special night!
This year, I think we will all be celebrating a bit differently than usual. Oh 2020, we’re so over this year! I think staying at home will likely be on a lot of our agendas. Who says you can’t dress up at home though? I’m sharing some of my favorite New Year’s Eve traditions that are both family-friendly and fun for couples too!
I’m rounding up fun dress up looks as well as casual and cozy New Year’s Eve outfits to celebrate the “virtual ball drop” as comfortable as possible.
Let’s be honest, I’m probably going to be in cozies and fuzzy slippers…. but I do miss getting dressed up! What are your plans? Drop in the comments below!
My Favorite New Year’s Eve Traditions:
- Party hats and horns – we love getting the kids excited and joining in the fun, so grabbing fun party hats and accessories at the Target Dollar Spot or Party City is a fun way to get everyone excited to celebrate!
- Cook up a storm – in past years my hubby and I have always gotten Alaskan King Crab Legs from Costco and cooked a decadent meal to cap off the year. I also recommend the Trader Joe’s Chocolate Lava Cake (super easy and delicious) to finish off 2020.
- Movie Night – if you are married to someone who cannot stand the traditional NYE shows on TV, then pick a movie out and watch until midnight, then switch to TV, that’s what we do! Personally, I could watch Ryan Seacrest or Carson Daly all night!
- Game Night – to get the kids into the fun, bring out some fun family games like Jenga, Mouse Trap, Sorry or 5 Second Rule. The kids get to play and it’s a time to bond as a family too!
